Extraordinarily, despite being 0-9 in the Major League Soccer season, Toronto FC managed to clinch victory in the Voyageurs Cup with a victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps to become the champions of Canada for the 4th consecutive year. This will hopefully provide the club with a boost in confidence so that they can go out and play well and get some points in the coming weeks.
If I was a betting man, I probably would have tipped the Vancouver to win that game. On a side note, if you are a fan of betting on sports, then I would recommend checking out this sports betting site. However, the odds do not always predict the outcome and Reggie Lambe scored a great goal to clinch the title for the Reds.
Here are the Highlights:
Julian de Guzman also got sent off for a silly altercation with a Whitecaps player but luckily for him Lambe was able to give the club salvation with a winning goal. He has been another great signing to go along with Joao Plata.
Toronto’s form in the CONCACAF CL and Canadian Championship, coupled with the fact that they’ve lost games by one goal or based on poor defensive errors is what still gives me hope that we can one day turn it around.
